Rare Find: The Complete Guide to Foot Reflexology (Original Edition)

While moving some boxes in the garage we came across some orginal editions of The Complete Guide to Foot Reflexology. These are not first editions (1982) but rather an edition that were printed around 1991. The rights to The Complete Guide to Foot Reflexology had been returned to us. We then did this printing prior to revising The Complete Guide to Foot Reflexology.

This edition is no longer in print in the US. A lot of people liked this edition because it was a simple and straight forward approach.

These copies have never been out of the box they came in and are in mint condition. We are offering a limited autographed edition for sale at $59.95 a piece. plus shipping.

First come, first served. Once they are gone they are gone. Act now!!!

Getting into Reflexology Part 2

Looking at books in a bookstore or on Amazon.com is a good way to get a feel for whether reflexology is for you.

Are you excited at the prospect of helping yourself and/or helping others. Or does the sight or the idea of working on feet and hands simply turn you off? (Hands seem to be more appealing to people who see working on feet as a turnoff.)

Look through books at your local bookstore and get a sense of your reactions. Are you ready to do reflexology or would you rather go to a spa and have them do it for you? Be honest. It saves a lot of time.

I am obviously biased towards our own titles and don't want to be critical of other reflexology books. So here is a good way to avoid all that is to go to Amazon.com and search for reflexology books. Read the description and the reviews and see what appeals to you. There are a lot of titles to choose from.

Are you interested in self help or family help? Or are you interested in reflexology as a potential occupation? Are you into energy work or are you more oriented towards the nervous system approach?

Get a little background knowledge from whatever book or books you select and try it out either as a self help workout or do it for someone else. Again use this exercise to gauge your reactions. Don't expect to do a whole session at first. It takes time to learn the techniques and to build up a little strength to do them.

Understanding your reactions is an important step to a successful reflexology experience whether that is self help, family help or a career in reflexology.

Mother's Day Presents

It is almost Mother's Day and you are stuck for a present. There are flowers, candies and the like.

But what would really please your Mom is a little relief from her tired aching feet and hands. So let me present you this infomercial (hey, I don't get paid to write this blog so don't complain. Besides your Mom would approve.)

Present idea #1 - Rub her feet and hands. I know this may not be your cup of tea but she put up with you all those years. Give her a little tender loving care. She deserves it.

You might buy a wonderful book on reflexology like Complete Reflexology for Life to study some techniques. (Again a little self promotion on my part isn't all bad.) Start out with a few simple "desserts". (See pages 78-83 for the feet, pages 122-125 for the hands.)

Work up to some more involved techniques like thumb walking. (See pages 72-73) Don't worry about speed just go slowly and thoroughly. It has a great effect.

Present idea #2 Give her a reflexology kit. There is a good one I know called Total Reflexology kit (okay so I am pushing the self promotion a bit.) It contains everything you need for a reflexology self help session. There are reflexology socks, gloves, a foot roller, a reflex ball, charts and a 160 page book at a very nice price.

Present idea #3 Give her a Reflexology Deck which has 52 cards from the bestselling title, Reflexology: Health at Your Fingertips. It gives her the ability to study reflexology wherever she is and the deck fits so conveniently in her purse.

Present Idea #4 Give her a combination of the above. Complete Reflexology for Life for instance goes very well with the Reflexology Deck. Or combine the Total Reflexology kit with the Reflexology Deck.

Now don't delay. This is your Mom we are talking about.

Happy Mother's Day.

Total Reflexology "flying off the shelves"

Our editor tells us that Total Reflexology, the reflexology kit, is "flying off the shelves. I did a little investigating and it does seem to be the case.

My cousin was standing counting how many boxes were at her local Barnes and Noble when an employee came up and said "if you are going to buy one of those you better do it now because they are selling out really fast."

Everyone who sees them wants the kit. Many are buying several and giving them as gifts.

You can check local availability right on the order page by pulling in your zip code. If they are out you can order through Barnes and Noble.com.

At $15 a kit it is appealing.

Complete Reflexology for Life

Having this past month off from blogging, gave me the opportunity to investigate new publications on reflexology.

I’ve got to tell you folks, I was so impressed with this recently published reflexology reference book by Barbara & Kevin Kunz, that I felt the need to share it with you.

I own several of their other publications; however, the beauty of this particular book, is the fact that it’s like an encyclopedia of most of their works combined.
Not only does it contain information on foot reflexology, but also hand reflexology as well.

It blew me away!

The illustrations and information are clear, precise, and easy to understand.
Not only is it beneficial for the novice, but also the professional as well.
It definately taught me a plethora of some new knowledge!

Book Highlights
*The principles and techniques of reflexology
*Self-help sessions and treatments for any stage of life
*Effective ways to treat health concerns
*Treatments for personal and professional use
*The use of self-help foot tools
*Proper foot care
*Teaches you how to easily incorporate reflexology into your daily life.

As a professional…I highly recommend investigating this book.
You can either purchase it at your local bookstore, or you can visit Barbara & Kevin ; where they can direct you on how to order it online.
It’s one of those books you’ll be able to use for the rest of your life!
So enjoy it…and be well.
